Terms of Service

Welcome to rcbldr.com (“rcbldr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website at rcbldr.com and any related services we provide (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Your account

You can sign in with email, Google, Discord, or Reddit. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Your content

Anything you add to the Service — builds, parts lists, notes, photos, usernames, profile details — is “Your Content.” You keep all rights you have in Your Content. By posting it to the Service you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute it as needed to run the Service. When you mark a build as public, you also grant other users a license to view and share it as displayed on the Service.

You are responsible for Your Content. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share, and do not upload photos of people who have not consented to being shown publicly.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law or any third party’s rights, including intellectual property rights;
  • Post content that is harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or harmful to minors;
  • Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or brand;
  • Upload viruses, malware, or anything designed to disrupt the Service;
  • Scrape, copy, or harvest data from the Service except as allowed by a public API or written permission;
  • Interfere with the Service, its security, or other users’ ability to use it;
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited messages or spam;
  • Resell or commercially exploit the Service or its content without permission.

5. Catalog data and brand names

The Service references parts and brands made by third parties. Brand names, product names, and logos belong to their respective owners. Their inclusion in our catalog does not imply endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship.

Catalog data — including prices, compatibility, dimensions, and stock — is provided for general information only and may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Always confirm details with the seller before purchasing. See our Disclaimer for more.

6. Affiliate links

Some links on the Service are affiliate links — if you click through and make a purchase we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These commissions help keep the Service free. See the Disclaimer for details.

7. Sharing to third-party platforms

If you connect your Reddit account (or other platforms we support in the future) and use the Service to post on your behalf, you authorize us to act through that connection in the ways described in the user interface. You are responsible for the content of any posts you publish through the Service and for complying with the destination platform’s terms. You can disconnect those accounts at any time from your settings.

8. Our content and trademarks

Everything on the Service that is not Your Content — including the rcbldr name and logo, the visual design, the software, and the original parts of the catalog — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.

9. Feedback

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas, we may use them without obligation to you. We are not required to keep feedback confidential.

10. DMCA and copyright complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to legal@rcbldr.com with: identification of the copyrighted work, the URL of the allegedly infringing content, your contact information, a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them, and your physical or electronic signature. We may remove content and terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

11. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from settings. We can suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we need to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, and dispute resolution — will continue to apply.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any defect will be corrected. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, rcbldr and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) US$50.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless rcbldr and its contributors from any claim, demand, loss, or damage — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

15. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also update these Terms — if we make material changes we will give reasonable notice (for example, by posting an updated “Last updated” date on this page or by email). Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which rcbldr is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
